2. Heartfelt Thanks to Ryan Bell,
Director of Contemporary Worship
For the past seven years, Ryan Bell has been a central part of the worshipping life at Grace. He has led us through many different seasons with his steady presence, his heart for the Lord, and his stellar musical skills. He has been the backbone of the worship band -- providing pastoral care, musical direction, kindness and leadership, and always a whole lot of fun.
As we all continue in this odd season of transition, Ryan is now entering a new transition himself. Through the prompting of the spirit, Ryan is stepping out in faith to begin a new adventure as the Director of Contemporary Worship at First Presbyterian Church, Houston. This is a position that will take full advantage of his many skills and talents and that will give him space to continue to grow and flourish in the wide variety of gifts he's been given.
It is hard to imagine worship at Grace without Ryan in it, but we are so proud of him for being willing to open his hands and listen to where God is calling him and his family in this new season. Ryan's wife, Sarah, teaches second grade at First Presbyterian’s elementary school and their son, dear little Ryan, goes to school there as well, so this is a bit of a homecoming for them, a place where their entire family can invest and plant deep roots in the years ahead.
We will miss him greatly! What a delight of a human being he is, and what a gift his presence has been around Grace!
Ryan's last Sunday will be February 14. We encourage you to set aside a few minutes to thank him for the many ways he's invested himself at Grace and to pray blessings over his continued ministry to our brothers and sisters in Christ at First Presbyterian Church. After worship on February 14, we will have an opportunity to share our thanks to Ryan and Sarah in the Welcome Center.
So, you may be wondering what is next for Grace? Julia, Heather and the worship team are working intentionally and prayerfully to take the next steps for worship leadership. We are confident in the Lord’s provision and faithfulness in the days ahead.
